Intro Paragraph
The HSSE (Health, Safety, Social and Environmental) EPC and O&M (Operations & Maintenance) Manager will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of HSSE programs and systems across ib vogt’s EPC and O&M business. This position will provide leadership and coordination for the overall EPC and O&M HSSE management as well as the assigned projects in accordance to fulfill local HSE- and ib vogt´s HSSE regulations.
Your Job
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Health, Safety, social, and environmental regulations and standards including ESG requirements across ib vogt’s EPC and O&M business.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing HSSE programs in EPC and O&M.
  • Managing HSSE ib vogt and HSE subcontractors teams.
  • Coordinating with the EPC and O&M management team, the corporate ESG department, and corporate HSSE colleagues on the implementation of the ESMS in construction and operational assets. 
  • Performing Site HSSE audits/inspections as required. 
  • Recording, making analysis, and reporting on HSSE metrics.
  • Preparing, maintaining, and advancing Operational HSSE tools, templates, plans etc. in coordination with the Head of EPC and O&M HSSE and the EPC and O&M management team. HSSE Qualification, assessing, managing contractors/subcontractors. Identify local occupational health & safety, social, and environmental regulations and standards in countries with ib vogt EPC and O&M activities (based on agreement with the Head of EPC and O&M Assist in the coaching, mentoring, and implementation of the HSSE programs on site. Incident investigation and Route Cause Analysis management. Emergency preparedness management. PPE management, and improvement.
  • Ensuring that HSSE training programs are in place.
  • Developing, keeping effectiveness, and supportive relations with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Act as the point of escalation for local EPC and O&M HSSE issues. 
  • Coordinate the Occupational Risk Prevention Plan with the activities in the photovoltaic plants in the EPC and O&M phases. 
  • Promote and manage proposals for improvement in health, safety, and the environment. 
  • Review the work procedures and contracts, identify needs, and create and expand HSSE processes. 
  • Managing and ensuring the preventive activities in the EPC and O&M phase as far as reasonably practicable. 
  • Ensuring incident and accident corrective actions are followed up on and completed. 
  • Directly support the development of globally relevant HSSE software, documentation, and standards. 
Your profile
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Health & Safety roles within Construction and/or O&M Energy utility projects. Experience in markets such as Germany, France, Netherlands is a plus.
  • Knowledge of international construction HSSE best practices.
  • Technical basis in Electrical Installations.
  • Proficient in teamwork, teambuilding, and conflict management.
  • HSE leadership and management skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Full proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with excellent communication skills. German language is a plus. 
Required Training
  • Professional degree in Health/Safety/Environment or a technical degree relevant to Energy and/or construction and O&M industries.
  • NEBOSH construction safety qualification or International general certificate in occupational health and safety.
  • Environmental certification, e.g, ISO 14001. ISO 45001 certification.
